John Burrows Band plays Rock n Roll in Northamptonshire
As individuals, we seem to have 'survived' Covid, Unfortunately the band has NOT.
Therefore will not be taking any bookings.
Never say Never : Circumstances may change and who knows ? one day we could be playing together again.
Above all: Please, please stay safe
The John Burrows Band are a 4 piece 'Live' band playing Classic 50's, 60's & 70's pop and rock n roll. Small band – big sound – committed to live music.
The band is based in Northamptonshire, in the heart of the country, ideally suited and within easy distance of the main trunk roads ie M1, M6, A14 and A1, making it simple to reach virtually any location in the U.K. Since conception in 2015 we have mainly played to a wide range of venues and clubs throughout the East Midlands including: Northampton, Rugby, Kettering, Corby, Wellingborough and surrounding areas. The band is looking to spread its wings and reach new audiences and we are now prepared to play virtually anywhere in the country.
The band specifically plays live music and its’ winning formula stems from a combination of the amazing vocals of Adam Whitmee, a young singer with a powerful, full range vocal, that is enhanced by three vastly experienced musicians with excellent, playing skills, backing vocals and harmonies. The band provides a 100% ‘LIVE MUSIC’ experience with the best of the songs from the golden era of the 1950’s 60’s and 70’s. There is no doubt in our minds that live music has a colourful dynamic that is virtually impossible to reproduce with recorded material and we are confident that if you are not familiar with live bands then you will be thrilled by the atmosphere that The John Burrows Band can generate.
Quite simply one of the best bands I have booked in my 15 years as a hotelier. We have booked The John Burrows band for weddings, Christmas party nights, beer festivals and private parties. They always pull a strong crowd, fill the dance floor and put on a great show, highly recommended!"
Classic Pop music and Rock n Roll.
The John Burrows Band carefully select the most suitable classic material to provide an authentic 60’s experience. We are passionate about the songs selected and in the way that they are played. Our mission is to reproduce the classic sounds as close to the originals as possible. Our belief is that there’s no need to ‘sex up‘ a classic tune, that’s not what we are about, so we always strive to keep as close to the original sound and arrangement as is practicably possible.
We play the hits from all the favourites including: Elvis, The Beatles, Jackie Wilson, Billy Fury, Del Shannon, The Rubettes, Chuck Berry, Jerry Lee Lewis, The Platters, The Drifters, P.J. Proby, Small faces, Bill Hayley and the Comets, Roy Orbison, Tom Jones, Stray Cats, Little Richard, Rod Stewart, Cliff Richard, and many many more.
In 2019 throughout the East Midlands The John Burrows Band have been continually nominated, by club members and audiences as their No1 Live Music Band playing 50’s, 60’s & 70’s music. Whether it be a pub gig with a 100 people on a Friday night or an outdoor festival with 5000 people we are committed to giving 100% every time. We also get asked to play at private functions such as wedding and birthday parties and since we started we’ve had some strange venues, but also some tremendous audiences.
Parties & Private Bookings
If you’re thinking of booking a band then we are confident that by choosing The John Burrows band for your event such as a Wedding or Birthday Party will prove to be a good choice for you and your guests, and virtually guarantee a good time for all, as the band is well experienced in playing at parties and have plenty of experience and repertoire to handle any mixed age audience and their preferences.
It doesn’t matter if your party is an informal affair with just a few guests in a small room or a large event in a hall, we fill the space we are given and we are confident that we have the right equipment to make sure that the band is both heard and seen from the back of the room. We won’t blast it out either as we always try to replicate the original sounds of the sixties therefore we don’t play like a rock band with heavy bass and bass drum, we leave that for the disco, our sound is very much vocal driven and balanced accordingly.
